Franklin - Weekend Update Addendum

Hey Hey Hey Franklin Families!

Every once in a while I'll send along a weekend update addendum with some additional info that I either forgot to put in the main update or things I want to make sure are separate and have their own time to shine...

• Fundraiser for Franklin Family - we have a student and family who are currently battling some extremely challenging health issues. A second Franklin family recently opened up a Brewery in Danvers, MA and is holding a social fundraiser for the family in need. The Brewery is Twisted Fate Brewing located at 120 Andover St. in Danvers, MA, owned and operated by our own McNamara Family. This Saturday, September 10th they are open from 11:00am-9:00pm and they will be donating 10% of all sales back to the family. They'll also be having raffles and a couple items for a silent auction. All the money collected from that will go directly to the family as well. There will also be a small table with paper and markers for people to write positive notes or draw pictures for the child. Parents and children welcome! :)
• Front Entrance - our amazing PTO and some parent volunteers recently took it upon themselves to weed, dig up, and beautify our front entrance area. Unfortunately for them it was on one of the HOTTEST days of the year (we won't mention I was in my air conditioned office drinking an iced coffee while that was happening - I swear I was working!!!!). But what a difference a little TLC makes! Thank you to everyone who helped out with that endeavor, including Peter Breen Mulch who graciously donated all of the mulch needed.
• PTO Meeting - Our first PTO Meeting of the year will be NEXT Wednesday, September 14th from 7:00-8:00 in the Franklin Library. The PTO already has a number of fun things in mind, so I'm sure we'll get some inside scoops on what to expect in the coming months!
• OPEN HOUSE - Our annual Open House will be on Thursday, September 22nd from 6:00-8:00. Each grade level has a designated time and those times will be communicated when we get closer, but I just wanted to make sure you marked your calendars!
